Dr. Dimitrios G Mpairaktaris was born in Evia, Greece and he live permanently in Chalkis, Evia, Greece. Since 2006 he studied and solved complex phenomena which cover different scientific areas, especially biomedical engineering with a particular emphasis in Computational Cardiovascular Mechanics. That's the science that deals with the computational analysis of the cardiovascular system and specifically with the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. He holds a doctor's degree, publishing part of his work in several referred International and National Conferences and International Journals as well. He also participated in National Funded Research Projects. His undergraduate degree from the Democritus University of Thrace in Civil Engineering with course emphasis in Hydraulics. He also completed with honor one M.Sc. program in Hydraulic Engineering.Dr. Silvia Pulignani is a young Research Scientist of the Institute of Clinical Physiology-CNR, Pisa. Her main research interest is focused on the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of congenital heart disease. She has expertise in cell biology and in a wide range of upgraded molecular biology and genetics laboratory techniques, including next generation sequencing technologies (exome sequencing, targeted resequencing, RNA and miRNA sequencing).
She is also proficient analyzing and interpreting genomic information by using different bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g. Annovar, Ingenuity, dbSNP, ClinVar, GenBank, Ensemble, DIANA–miRPath).
To date, she has >20 scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and international abstracts and she has also served as a reviewer for several journals.
Her specific areas of interest include: Identification of mutations and their functional validation (e.g. genes encoding transcription factors or other relevant proteins that regulate specific events in cardiac development); Small RNA and post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression; Cellular responses to environmental stress and gene-environment interactions.Dr. Srikanth Yandrapalli holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degree from Andhra Medical College, India. He finished residency training in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College and Westchester Medical Center in New York, USA, where he also served as a Chief Resident and Instructor in Medicine. He is currently pursuing Cardiovascular disease fellowship at New York Medical College and Westchester Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is an active member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Alpha Omega
Alpha Honor Medical Society. He was recognized nationally for his research contributions and serves as an advisor, editorial board member, and peer reviewer for numerous specialized journals. He has published several book chapters and research articles in the field of internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.Dr. Alessandro Lupi graduated in Medicine & Surgery with full honours in 1992 at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Rome). In the same year he won the “Ludovico Necchi” prize as Best Medicine Fellow of the Catholic University of Rome for 1991-1992 Academic Course. In 1997 he specialized in Cardiology with full honours at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Rome).
From 1999 to 2007 he directed the Cath Lab of the “Umberto Parini” General Hospital of Aosta. From 2007 to 2015 he directed the Cath Lab of the “Maggiore della Carità” University Hospital of Novara. From 2015 he is the Chief of the Cardiology Division of the General Hospital of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola.
In his academic career Dr Lupi published 90 peer reviewed articles as well as medical textbook chapters and collaborates with the Editorial boards of several peer reviewed Journals.I'm doctor in Sciences of health and teaching, I developed my activity in the investigation of protein fibrinolytic for therapeutic use in cardiovascular pathologies. I am currently director of the Department of biological chemistry at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the Catholic University of Córdoba and my current research area is in the behaviour of cardiac markers in coronary diseases, modification of the same in patients with diabetes and hypertension. At Yale University, the University of Massachusetts, and Beth Israel, we also did complicated/complex aortic surgeries to include TEVAR’s. Clinically, she has done complex adult and pediatric cardiac surgeries, aortic surgeries, and thoracic surgeries to include surgeries on the esophagus. We are on the cutting edge of clinical and surgical management of pediatric as well as adult patients with cardiac/thoracic pathologies. Our adult congenital heart and fetal programs are growing and expanding. Clinically, she is the most interested in complex congenital heart disease in neonates with complicated physiology. Berezin has received PhD in 1994 in the State Medical University of Zaporozhye (Ukraine). He is currently working as Senior Consultant, Lecturer and Professor of Medicine in the State Medical University of Zaporozhye (Ukraine). I am a graduate in Pharmacy of the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. In 2012, I began my research training at the Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease Laboratory of Faculty of Pharmacy directed by Prof. Manuel Benito, with special focus on atherosclerosis pathophysiology. There, I defended my PhD-thesis about the role of brown lipoatrophy and insulin receptor isoforms in human and experimental atherosclerosis and awarded with a unanimous “Cum Laude”. Prof. Radmilo J. Jankovic was born on December 27th 1973 in Leskovac, Serbia. After graduating on School of Medicine, University of Nis, he became a Medical Doctor (MD) in 1999. By defending the master’s thesis in 2003, he gets a Master of Medical Science title (MSc). In 2005 he became a specialist of Anesthesiology and resuscitation and in 2008 prof. Jankovic defended his doctoral dissertation (PhD) at Faculty of Medicine, University of Nis.
Currently, Prof. Jankovic is a Director of the Clinic of Anesthesia and Intensive therapy in Clinical Center Nis, an Associate professor at School of Medicine, Member of Commision for doctoral studies and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Emergency Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Nis.
Since 2017 is a secretary of European Society of Anesthesiology (ESA) and also a member of ESCIM, ESRA, EACTA.

St. Cyr, MD, PhD, a retired cardiovascular surgeon, received his B.A., BS, M.S., M.D., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. He completed his general surgical training at the University of Minnesota and completed his cardiovascular surgical fellowship training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, CO. Dr. St.Cyr has extensive research credentials, is widely published, has received numerous local and national research grants, has numerous patents in various fields of interest, and has presented at both national and international meetings. Currently, Dr. St. Cyr has 17 issued patents, 12 patents pending, and numerous provisional patent submissions. (Minneapolis, MN), and ImmuMed, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN). Dr. St. Cyr is a member of numerous scientific research, medical, and surgical societies. Dr. Twalib Olega Aliku is a consultant Paediatric Cardiologist at the Uganda Heart Institute with eight years experience in the care of children with acquired and congenital heart disease. Twalib Olega is currently one of only two experts in the country providing transcatheter interventions (closed heart procedures) for the treatment of children with congenital heart disease. Twalib Olega has been part of the research team that has demonstrated that trained nurses and other lower level health workers can competently perform and interpret echocardiograms (heart scans) using hand held devices for the diagnosis of Rheumatic Heart Disease, the commonest acquired heart disease in children and young adults in developing countries. This is especially important in a country where trained cardiovascular health experts are few. Twalib Olega head the implementation of a pilot telemedicine project that supports cardiovascular care in Gulu regional referral hospital. This project seeks to leverage hand held echocardiography, task shifting of performance of echocardiograms to nurses and low band width internet connectivity to provide a potentially sustainable and scalable solution to the lack of access to high quality heart care services at most regional referral hospitals in the country. Twalib Olega actively involved in local church fellowship at Kololo Deliverance Church along Sadler Way in Naguru where recently (November 2018) I was selected to serve on the eldership board of the church.Dr. Richard Kones MD, PhD began as a mathematically inclined chemical engineer and then attended NYU School of Medicine in a special pilot program. Inspired by a mentor in the Physiology department, he conducted independent research studying aldosterone with a novel technique, and became a full member of the New York Academy of Sciences while still in medical school. He completed training in New York and continued a NIH Fellowship in cardiology at Tulane University School of Medicine, also working at the Charity Hospital and Veterans Administration Hospital in New Orleans.
He returned to New York Medical College to continue researching actions of inotropic agents, myocardial function, preservation of ischemic myocardium, and cardiogenic shock, eventually relocating in Texas. An avid supporter of applications of biochemistry and physiology, he continued teaching and publishing, emphasizing translational research. In addition to presentations, lectures, has mentored medical students and house staff at several medical schools and affiliated hospitals. His interests gradually turned to the role pathological signaling plays in the pathogenesis of atherothrombosis, especially the interaction of inflammatory mechanisms, endothelial dysfunction, mitochondrial involvement in disease, lipid metabolism, metabolic syndrome and related evidence-based interventions to improve clinical outcomes. Fundamental mechanisms and molecular and cellular cardiology have been central to his work, as well as the practical aspects of how simple lifestyle and dietary changes may be powerful tools to minimize risk factors.
During the course of his academic career he has received several scholarships, awards, and grants. His work includes over 125 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, 6 books, presentations, and lectures. He serves on a number of committees in various medical organizations, peer reviews for over 190 medical journals, many repeatedly, and volunteers for the mentoring programs in the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, American Heart Association, National Lipid Association and Endocrine Society. Over the years Dr. Kones’ biography has appeared in a number of editions of Who’s Who and other biographical registries. At its inception, he was appointed one of the founding editors of Medpedia online, a collaborative educational project among several medical schools, and served as a Board Member of the Committees on Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, and Nutrition of the Medpedia project. Currently he is Editor-in-Chief of Research Reports in Clinical Cardiology and sits on the Editorial Boards of other journals. With a broad based scholarly background in medicine, Dr. Kones brings vast clinical, investigative, academic, and editorial expertise to this journal.
He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association, European Society of Cardiology, Royal Society of Medicine, the New York Cardiological Society, now merged with the New York Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, the Royal Society of Public Health, the Royal Society of Biology and is a Founding Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society. He is also founder and current president of Stay Alive Association, performing social responsibility projects to increase survival in sudden cardiac arrest victims.Dr. Michael Megaly is a cardiology fellow at Minneapolis Heart Institute and Hennepin HealthcareDr. Francisco Guzman is a surgical resident at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, a tertiary referral center in Columbus, OH. He specializes in the treatment general surgical diseases. His clinical training exposure includes general gastrointestinal surgery, surgical oncology, trauma & acute care, vascular and thoracic surgery, as well as critical care medicine, and will transition to a career in academic surgery upon graduation. His training to date includes a preliminary year of surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, from which he transitioned to his current institution. Dr. Ravinder Reddy Gaddam is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Iowa, USA with an extensive experience in the field of Molecular Biology with special interest in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Diseases. He received prestigious American Heart Association (AHA)-Fellowship to pursue his research at University of Iowa. In 2012, he completed M.S. (Pharm.) in Pharmacology and Toxicology from National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER)-Mohali, India. He received prestigious University of Otago-Scholarship from New Zealand in 2013 for pursuing PhD in Molecular Biology and Pathology. During his PhD, he accomplished by several national and international research and travel grants to complete his PhD research project and to attend and present his research to the International Scientific Community. He also worked, collaboratively, with University of Sydney, Australia during 2015-2016 as Doctoral Research Scholar Intern. She works in the area of Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension at the Argentine Institute of Diagnosis and Treatment, and Hospital El Cruce. She received her medical degree from the Favaloro University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in 2001. Later, she specialized in Cardiology at the Favaloro Foundation's Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Service. The doctor completed her training in advanced cardio-respiratory failure, pulmonary hypertension and intrathoracic transplantation in the Transplant Services of the Favaloro Foundation, Stanford University - California - USA, Hospital De la Pitie -Paris- France and Hospital 12 de Octubre, Madrid- Spain.

Dr. Rodolfo Arantes is a Physician graduated in 1995 at Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santos, performed medical residency in clinic and cardiology at Hospital Ana Costa (Santos-SP). Obtained the title of specialist in Cardiology by the Brazilian Society of Cardiology in 1999 and Qualification in ergometry in the same year.
In 2009 he concluded his PhD in Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo in the field of cardiovascular disease in chronic kidney disease, and publication of several scientific papers and congress presentation. In 2011, he began scientific collaboration at the Federal University of São Paulo (Santos-SP), in physiology of exercise (medical themes discussion, classes, preparing papers, analysis of treadmill test).
